Terms of Service
OVERVIEW
This website is operated under the RaptiVanta store name. Throughout this website, the terms “RaptiVanta,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of RaptiVanta.
RaptiVanta provides this website, including its information, products, features, tools, and related services, subject to your acceptance of these Terms of Service and all policies referenced on the website.
By visiting our website, creating an account, submitting information, or purchasing a product, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
These Terms apply to all website users, including visitors, customers, account holders, and individuals who submit reviews or other content.
Please review these Terms carefully before using the website. If you do not agree with them, you should not access the website, place an order, or use our services.
Any new feature, product, or service added to the website will also be subject to these Terms unless expressly stated otherwise.
SECTION 1 – ELIGIBILITY AND ONLINE STORE TERMS
By using this website, you represent that:
- You have reached the age of legal majority in your place of residence; or
- You are using the website with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian; and
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
Products intended for installation, electrical use, heating, lighting, feeding, animal handling, or enclosure maintenance should be purchased and used by a responsible adult.
You may not use our website or products for an unlawful, unauthorized, unsafe, abusive, or fraudulent purpose.
You are responsible for complying with laws and regulations applicable to your location, including rules relating to product importation, electrical standards, environmental protection, animal care, and reptile ownership.
A violation of these Terms may result in the suspension or termination of your access to the website or cancellation of an affected transaction where permitted by law.
SECTION 2 – GENERAL CONDITIONS
We reserve the right to refuse or limit service, cancel an order, restrict quantities, or terminate access when reasonably necessary because of:
- Suspected fraud or unauthorized payment activity
- Abusive, threatening, or unlawful conduct
- Product or shipping restrictions
- Pricing or inventory errors
- Repeated misuse of store policies
- Attempts to interfere with website security
- Violations of these Terms
- Other legitimate business or legal reasons
We will not refuse service for an unlawful discriminatory reason.
You may not reproduce, copy, resell, exploit, or commercially use any portion of the website or service without our prior written permission, except where permitted by applicable law.
SECTION 3 – ACCOUNT AND CUSTOMER INFORMATION
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when placing an order, creating an account, or contacting customer support.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping account credentials confidential
- Restricting unauthorized access to your account
- Reviewing order and shipping information before purchase
- Promptly updating inaccurate contact information
- Notifying us of suspected unauthorized account activity
RaptiVanta is not responsible for losses caused by a customer’s failure to protect login credentials, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
We may request reasonable order, identity, address, or payment verification before completing an order or processing certain requests.
SECTION 4 – PRODUCT INFORMATION
We make reasonable efforts to present product descriptions, photographs, measurements, materials, specifications, and compatibility information accurately.
However:
- Product colors may vary because of lighting, photography, screen settings, or manufacturing differences
- Measurements may contain minor reasonable variations
- Packaging may differ from website images
- Manufacturers may update product designs or packaging
- Natural-looking decorations may have minor pattern or texture variations
- Product accessories shown in photographs may not always be included unless listed in the product description
Customers should review the entire product listing before purchasing.
A photograph, heading, or general promotional statement does not replace the specifications and included-items information stated in the product description.
If a material product detail is incorrect, applicable remedies will be determined under our Return & Refund Policy and applicable law.
SECTION 5 – PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
Products may be available in limited quantities and may be supplied through different fulfillment locations.
Adding a product to a cart does not reserve inventory.
We may:
- Limit the number of products purchased by one customer, account, household, payment method, or delivery address
- Discontinue a product
- Correct inventory information
- Cancel an unavailable product
- Decline orders that appear intended for unauthorized resale
If we cancel an unshipped product because it is unavailable, the amount paid for that product will be refunded to the original payment method.
SECTION 6 – PRODUCT SUITABILITY AND COMPATIBILITY
Reptile species have different requirements relating to temperature, ultraviolet lighting, humidity, enclosure size, ventilation, substrate, feeding, water, enrichment, and handling.
Before purchasing or using a product, customers are responsible for confirming:
- The product is appropriate for the relevant reptile species
- The size and dimensions are suitable for the enclosure
- The materials are appropriate for the intended use
- Electrical voltage and plug specifications are compatible
- Heating and lighting equipment can be installed safely
- The product can be used with other enclosure equipment
- The product complies with applicable local requirements
A product is not necessarily defective because it is unsuitable for a particular reptile, enclosure, setup, climate, voltage, or intended use that was not expressly guaranteed in the product description.
SECTION 7 – REPTILE HEALTH AND VETERINARY DISCLAIMER
Information provided through RaptiVanta, including product descriptions, articles, guides, emails, and customer-support communications, is provided for general product and educational purposes.
It is not:
- Veterinary advice
- Medical advice
- A diagnosis
- A treatment plan
- A substitute for professional animal care
- A guarantee of a particular health or husbandry result
RaptiVanta does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent animal diseases.
Customers should consult a qualified veterinarian or appropriately experienced reptile-care professional regarding an animal’s health, symptoms, medication, treatment, nutrition, or individual care requirements.
If a reptile appears ill, injured, distressed, burned, dehydrated, unable to eat, or otherwise unwell, professional assistance should be obtained promptly rather than relying solely on information from our website.
SECTION 8 – PRODUCT USE AND SUPERVISION
Products must be used only:
- For their intended purpose
- In accordance with the product description
- In accordance with manufacturer instructions
- Under appropriate adult supervision
- With reasonable inspection and maintenance
Customers should inspect products before placing them inside an occupied enclosure.
Do not use a product that is cracked, frayed, leaking, overheating, unstable, contaminated, missing components, or otherwise appears unsafe.
Customers are responsible for monitoring the reptile’s interaction with products and removing any product that presents a risk of ingestion, entrapment, falling, overheating, cutting, choking, or other injury.
RaptiVanta is not responsible for damage caused by misuse, improper installation, unauthorized modification, unsuitable placement, inadequate supervision, animal activity, or failure to follow instructions, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
SECTION 9 – HEATING, LIGHTING, AND ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS
Heating, lighting, thermostatic, humidifying, and other electrical products require careful selection, installation, and monitoring.
Customers are responsible for:
- Confirming voltage and plug compatibility
- Following all manufacturer instructions
- Using appropriate thermostatic or temperature-control equipment when required
- Maintaining safe distances from animals and combustible materials
- Protecting electrical components from water and excessive humidity
- Regularly checking temperatures with suitable monitoring equipment
- Replacing damaged cords, plugs, sockets, bulbs, or fixtures
- Ensuring that equipment does not create a burn, fire, or electrical hazard
Never rely on a heating or lighting product without appropriate monitoring.
RaptiVanta does not guarantee that a product will create a specific temperature, humidity level, ultraviolet output, or environmental result in every enclosure. Results may vary depending on enclosure size, ventilation, room temperature, placement, climate, equipment combinations, and other conditions.
SECTION 10 – FOOD, SUPPLEMENTS, SUBSTRATE, AND CONSUMABLE PRODUCTS
Customers must review labels, ingredients, expiration information, storage instructions, species suitability, and usage directions before using food, supplements, substrate, cleaning products, or other consumables.
Do not use a product if:
- The safety seal is broken unexpectedly
- The packaging is materially damaged
- The product appears contaminated
- The expiration date has passed
- The product has been stored improperly
- Its suitability for the animal is uncertain
RaptiVanta does not guarantee that every animal will accept, tolerate, or respond identically to a food, supplement, substrate, or care product.
Consult a qualified veterinarian before making significant dietary or supplementation changes, particularly for an animal with an existing health condition.
SECTION 11 – PRICES AND PRODUCT CHANGES
Product prices, promotions, availability, specifications, packaging, and descriptions may change without prior notice.
Price changes do not affect orders that have already been accepted unless:
- The displayed price resulted from an obvious error
- A system malfunction occurred
- The order requires modification with the customer’s agreement
- Applicable law permits cancellation or correction
Prices displayed on the website may not include taxes, customs duties, import charges, or other government-imposed fees unless expressly stated.
Applicable shipping charges and other required fees will be disclosed during checkout.
SECTION 12 – ERRORS, INACCURACIES, AND OMISSIONS
The website may occasionally contain typographical errors, inaccurate product information, pricing errors, inventory errors, or omissions.
We reserve the right to correct such information and, where permitted by law, cancel or modify an affected order.
If an order is cancelled because of an error before shipment, the applicable payment will be refunded.
We are not required to honor an obviously incorrect price when the customer knew or reasonably should have known that the price was a mistake, subject to applicable law.
SECTION 13 – ORDERS AND ORDER ACCEPTANCE
Submitting an order constitutes an offer to purchase.
An automated order confirmation acknowledges receipt of the order but does not necessarily mean that the order has been finally accepted or shipped.
We may review an order before acceptance.
An order may be rejected or cancelled because of:
- Product unavailability
- Incorrect pricing or product information
- Payment authorization failure
- Fraud-prevention concerns
- Shipping restrictions
- Invalid or incomplete customer information
- Unusually large quantities
- Legal or regulatory restrictions
An order is considered accepted when it enters fulfillment or is shipped, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
SECTION 14 – PAYMENT
Customers agree to provide valid and authorized payment information.
By submitting payment information, you represent that:
- You are authorized to use the selected payment method
- The billing information is accurate
- Sufficient funds or credit are available
- The transaction does not violate applicable law
Payment processing may be performed by third-party payment providers.
RaptiVanta does not directly receive or store complete payment-card information when the transaction is processed through an external payment provider.
We may cancel or hold an order if payment cannot be authorized or if additional verification is reasonably required.
SECTION 15 – TAXES, DUTIES, AND IMPORT CHARGES
Customers are responsible for taxes, duties, customs charges, brokerage fees, and similar government or carrier charges that are not collected during checkout.
International customers are responsible for confirming that products may lawfully be imported and used in their destination country.
RaptiVanta does not control customs authorities and cannot guarantee clearance or predict the amount of import charges.
Failure to pay import charges may result in delay, return, abandonment, confiscation, or destruction of a package.
Any refund for a refused or unclaimed international shipment will be handled under our Shipping & Delivery Policy and Return & Refund Policy.
SECTION 16 – SHIPPING AND DELIVERY
Order processing, shipping fees, delivery estimates, tracking, address changes, customs procedures, delivery claims, and related matters are governed by our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Delivery dates are estimates unless a guaranteed service is expressly confirmed.
Customers should not depend on an estimated delivery date when an animal’s immediate access to heat, lighting, food, water, medication, or another essential care item is involved.
Customers should maintain appropriate backup supplies and equipment for the animals in their care.
SECTION 17 – RETURNS, REFUNDS, AND CANCELLATIONS
Returns, refunds, replacements, exchanges, and cancellations are governed by our Return & Refund Policy.
Certain products may not be returnable after opening, installation, use, contamination, or placement inside an occupied reptile enclosure because of hygiene, safety, and resale concerns.
Contacting customer support does not automatically approve a return, refund, cancellation, replacement, or exchange.
Nothing in these Terms eliminates consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
SECTION 18 – MANUFACTURER INFORMATION AND WARRANTIES
Some products may include instructions, warnings, guarantees, or warranties provided by the manufacturer.
Any manufacturer warranty is subject to the manufacturer’s own terms, exclusions, claim procedures, and eligibility requirements.
The inclusion of a manufacturer warranty does not mean that RaptiVanta independently provides the same warranty unless we expressly state so in writing.
Any written warranty provided directly by RaptiVanta will be made available with its applicable terms.
No informal statement by customer support creates an additional warranty unless it is expressly confirmed as a warranty by an authorized representative.
Nothing in these Terms excludes implied warranties, statutory guarantees, or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.
SECTION 19 – THIRD-PARTY FULFILLMENT AND SERVICE PROVIDERS
RaptiVanta may use third-party:
- Warehouses
- Fulfillment providers
- Distributors
- Payment processors
- Shipping carriers
- Technology providers
- Customer-support tools
Packages, labels, payment statements, or tracking information may display the name of a third-party provider.
Third-party involvement does not prevent customers from contacting RaptiVanta about an order.
Customers should not return products to the address shown on a shipping label unless RaptiVanta expressly confirms that it is the authorized return location.
SECTION 20 – THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND TOOLS
The website may contain links to third-party websites, services, manufacturer resources, social-media platforms, or payment services.
Third-party websites are operated independently and may have different terms and privacy practices.
RaptiVanta does not control or endorse every statement, product, service, or practice of a third party merely because a link is provided.
Accessing a third-party website is at the user’s discretion.
Any issue involving a third party’s independent website or service should be addressed according to that party’s terms, without limiting any rights the customer may have against RaptiVanta under applicable law.
SECTION 21 – USER REVIEWS, COMMENTS, AND SUBMISSIONS
Customers may submit reviews, photographs, suggestions, questions, or other content where the website permits.
Submitted content must not:
- Be knowingly false or misleading
- Infringe intellectual-property or privacy rights
- Contain malicious software
- Include unlawful threats or harassment
- Disclose another person’s confidential information
- Promote illegal activity
- Contain spam or unauthorized advertising
You retain ownership of content you create.
By submitting content to RaptiVanta, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, display, and use that content for operating and promoting the store, subject to applicable privacy and consumer-protection law.
We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms prohibits or penalizes an honest review, lawful consumer complaint, or truthful statement about a customer’s experience.
SECTION 22 – INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, website content—including text, graphics, store branding, page layouts, photographs, icons, and original written materials—is owned by or licensed to RaptiVanta.
You may use the website for personal, non-commercial shopping purposes.
You may not, without authorization:
- Reproduce substantial portions of the website
- Use our branding to impersonate RaptiVanta
- Copy product content for a competing commercial store
- Remove copyright or ownership notices
- Scrape or extract website content using automated systems
- Use website content in a misleading or unlawful manner
These restrictions do not limit uses permitted by applicable copyright law.
SECTION 23 – PROHIBITED USES
You may not use the website:
- For unlawful or fraudulent activity
- To violate intellectual-property rights
- To submit false payment or delivery information
- To introduce viruses, malicious code, or harmful technology
- To collect personal information without authorization
- To interfere with website security or operation
- To impersonate another person or business
- To make fraudulent return, refund, damage, or delivery claims
- To bypass purchasing restrictions
- To harass, threaten, or abuse customers, staff, or service providers
- To purchase or use products for illegal animal activity
We may suspend access or cancel affected transactions when there is reasonable evidence of prohibited conduct.
SECTION 24 – PRIVACY
The collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy.
By using the website, you acknowledge that information may be processed by service providers reasonably necessary for order fulfillment, payment processing, fraud prevention, shipping, customer support, analytics, or website operation.
Customers should not send passwords, complete payment-card numbers, or unnecessary sensitive information by email.
SECTION 25 – WEBSITE AVAILABILITY
We do not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Access may be interrupted because of:
- Maintenance
- Technical failure
- Service-provider disruption
- Security incidents
- System updates
- Events outside our reasonable control
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue a website feature without liability for indirect losses, subject to applicable law.
Discontinuing a website feature does not eliminate obligations relating to an order that was already accepted.
SECTION 26 – DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the website and general informational content are provided on an “as available” basis.
RaptiVanta does not guarantee that:
- The website will operate without interruption
- Every website error will be corrected immediately
- A product will meet an unstated personal preference
- A particular animal will react to a product in a specific manner
- A product will produce a particular husbandry, behavioral, or health result
- Third-party carrier or customs services will operate without delay
This section does not exclude:
- Express written warranties
- Implied warranties that cannot legally be disclaimed
- Statutory product guarantees
- Rights involving defective or misdescribed products
- Any other non-waivable consumer protection
SECTION 27 – LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, RaptiVanta will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses arising solely from:
- Website interruption
- A missed estimated delivery date
- Carrier or customs delays
- A customer’s selection of an unsuitable product
- Improper installation or use
- Failure to follow product instructions
- Unauthorized product modification
- Failure to maintain suitable backup animal-care equipment
- Loss or theft occurring after confirmed delivery
- Reliance on general educational information as veterinary advice
Examples of excluded indirect losses may include lost income, lost business opportunities, replacement purchases from another seller, missed appointments, or similar consequential expenses.
Where permitted by law, RaptiVanta’s aggregate liability for a claim relating to a product will not exceed the amount paid to RaptiVanta for the product giving rise to the claim.
This limitation does not apply where liability cannot legally be limited, including liability arising from fraud, intentional misconduct, or death or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited.
SECTION 28 – CUSTOMER MISUSE AND RESPONSIBILITY
Customers are responsible for loss or damage resulting from their own:
- Unlawful use
- Intentional misuse
- Grossly improper installation
- Unauthorized modification
- Failure to follow clear warnings
- Fraudulent claim
- Violation of another person’s rights
Nothing in this section requires a consumer to compensate RaptiVanta for losses caused by RaptiVanta’s own legally established wrongdoing.
SECTION 29 – EVENTS OUTSIDE REASONABLE CONTROL
RaptiVanta will not be responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters
- Severe weather
- Fire or flooding
- War or civil disturbance
- Government action
- Customs restrictions
- Labor disputes
- Carrier disruption
- Public emergencies
- Infrastructure or network failure
- Supplier interruption
Where these events affect an unshipped order, customer notice, cancellation, or refund rights will be provided as required by applicable law.
SECTION 30 – TERMINATION
We may suspend or terminate access to the website when a user materially violates these Terms.
Termination does not affect:
- Payment obligations already incurred
- Rights or remedies arising before termination
- Existing orders unless they are separately cancelled
- Provisions that reasonably continue after termination
Customers may stop using the website at any time.
SECTION 31 – SEVERABILITY
If a provision of these Terms is found unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent legally permitted or separated from the remaining Terms.
The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
SECTION 32 – NO WAIVER
A failure or delay by RaptiVanta to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
A waiver is effective only when expressly provided in writing by an authorized representative.
SECTION 33 – ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms and the policies referenced on the website constitute the agreement between RaptiVanta and the customer regarding use of the website and purchases from the store.
Relevant policies may include:
- Privacy Policy
- Shipping & Delivery Policy
- Return & Refund Policy
- Contact Us page
- Any product-specific terms or written warranties
If a product-specific term directly conflicts with a general provision, the more specific term will apply to that product to the extent legally permitted.
SECTION 34 – ASSIGNMENT
Customers may not transfer their contractual rights or obligations to another person without written consent where consent is legally required.
RaptiVanta may transfer its rights and obligations in connection with a legitimate sale, restructuring, merger, or transfer of the business, provided that legally protected customer rights are not reduced.
SECTION 35 – APPLICABLE LAW AND CONSUMER RIGHTS
These Terms are interpreted under the laws applicable to the transaction and the entity operating RaptiVanta.
Nothing in these Terms deprives a consumer of mandatory protections available under the laws of the consumer’s place of residence when those protections legally apply.
Any dispute should first be submitted to customer support so the parties have a reasonable opportunity to resolve it.
This section does not require a consumer to waive access to a court, regulatory authority, payment dispute procedure, or remedy that cannot legally be waived.
SECTION 36 – CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in:
- Store operations
- Products and services
- Technology
- Payment or fulfillment processes
- Legal or regulatory requirements
The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
Changes will apply prospectively unless applicable law permits otherwise.
The Terms in effect when an order is placed will generally govern that transaction, subject to mandatory legal requirements.
