Mixed into the substrate, it recreates a natural forest floor and helps create a balanced, stable habitat for invertebrates, amphibians, & reptiles.
  • Supports Isopods & Springtails: While leaf litter is the primary food source for microfauna, leaf mold provides an extra rich food source for isopods while also enriching the substrate in which they burrow. It keeps your isopods & springtails healthy, keeping your terrarium cleaner & easier to maintain.
  • Soil Conditioner: Improves soil structure by letting more air in & retaining more moisture, allowing plants to establish stronger roots & keeping the humidity stable in bioactive terrariums.
  • Maintains Humidity Balance: Leaf mold retains moisture better than dry leaves. It helps maintain consistent humidity for reptiles, isopods, and amphibians while keeping plants well hydrated. Ideal for geckos, small snakes, frogs, & other moisture-loving species.
  • Naturally Decomposed & Chemical-Free: Our leaf mold is made from natural woodland leaf litter stored & fermented in barrels using rainwater for moisture. It is safe for isopods, springtails, live plants, and sensitive terrarium animals. Use it sparingly. The substrate should consist of 10-20% leaf mold as inoculate.
